About the movie.

My Lost Kainga is a story about Mia, she was born in Tonga but raised in Australia after her parents died. Mia enjoyed the freedom and the opportunities in Australia and grew up to be a very successful young woman. Mia also took on the Australian culture and very quickly forgot about her Tongan heritage.

Life was perfect for Mia! but one day she receives a phone call from her grandmother asking her to come back to Tonga because she was sick.

Mia reluctantly agrees and she begins a journey that not only changes the way she thinks but this trip back to Tonga will change her life forever.

Join Mia as her perfect life is turned upside down & watch as Mia falls in love with a culture that she fought so hard to forget.

Our time on Tonga,

Filming on Tonga has it's unique challenges but we managed to achieve what we set out to do but this was only because we had a great team that work hard each day.

George Moungatonga – Sound operator Technical

Taniela Makakaufaki & Lousa Palu– Production assistant

Gary Shingles - Techincal Assistant

Christina Fuemana & Sifa Mafi Directors assistant

Working in a foreign land always has its challenges, but working with a good team makes it easier. We had early starts and some late finishes, and by the end of our time on Tonga, most of us were ready to go home, but this movie is ground breaking, the first movie ever filmed on Tonga, that is something that we will all remember for a very long time.
